Dennis Cheng FCA – the Principal & Founder of Gladius Assurance. He was an ex-Big 4 Partner with over 18 years of experience advising top-tier and FinTech Financial Institutions on regulatory matters.
He is known for his market-leading CASS and Safeguarding knowledge. He is often called upon to assist in solving complex issues requiring critical thinking and in-depth financial sector knowledge. He is also an accomplished risk and internal control practitioner, who has assisted clients in navigating s166 investigations, regulatory deep-dives and readiness reviews covering governance, conduct, prudential and internal controls effectiveness.
Clients are attracted to his pragmatic, methodical and no-nonsense approach to proposing solutions, commercial awareness and ability to “connect the dots”. They also value his leadership skills in managing communications and relationships with stakeholders.
He is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant with experience in regulatory assurance engagements such as CASS, Safeguarding, s166 and ISAE 3000 opinions. He was also awarded CISI’s Certificate in Risk in Financial Services and UK Regulation & Professional Integrity.

Its purpose is to empower the most influential community in payments, where the connections, collaboration and learning shape an industry that works for all. As an independent representative for the industry and its interests, the TPA drives collaboration within the payments sector in order to bring about meaningful change and innovation. TPA works closely with industry stakeholders such as the Bank of England, the FCA, HM Treasury, the Payment Systems Regulator, Pay.UK, UK Finance and Innovate Finance.
Dennis participates and contributes to various TPA working groups such as Regulatory and Digital Assets.
